The story is set in the terraced vegetable gardens of Hugley Hall where the root vegetables in the lowest terrace have little respect for the cosseted greenhouse vegetables on the upper terrace. The animated root vegetables battle for survival against floods, evil and their own fears and prejudices. The vegetables have all been created to look like real 3D vegetables with their own distinct personalities, strengths and weaknesses. They eat, drink, talk and move convincingly.
